NW, It's depth that will hurt SC short term. Quality will be uneffected and the results this season are somewhat predictable. Will they win the PAC...dunno. Will they be in the hunt or to say the least affect the outcome...no doubt.
By the way ASU will be much more disciplined and much more a player than in recent years. The new coach is going to make a difference in discipline and majorly so in conditioning.
