Ramirez to play Tuesday with dreadlocks

Manny Ramirez When Manny Ramirez arrives in Chicago and dons his now-familiar No. 99, he'll also bring along his dreadlocks.

Manager Ozzie Guillen made it clear he couldn't care less about Manny's locks, which were originally a bone of contention in Los Angeles under manager Joe Torre.

"Guys can go out there butt naked," Ozzie Guillen said to's Anthony Castrovince . "They don’t have to wear a uniform. And if they win a game for me, I’m happy for 'em."

Unfortunately -- or fortunately, depending how you look at it -- for Guillen, uniforms are required to play the game.

Ramirez will be landing around 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, making his availability for the game Tuesday night in doubt. He was not able to make the trip to Cleveland on Monday as he did not book a flight until the move was official just in case the Dodgers pulled him off waivers.

If he does make it, ManRam will bat fifth, presumably just behind the 3-4 duo of Alex Rios and Paul Konerko. Carlos Quentin and A.J. Pierzynski will likely be knocked down one slot each.

Get a clue man. Although questions have surrounded Manny when speaking of respecting baseball's rules and history, he has never really been in trouble with the law. So saying he does not have a thread of character, when not even actually knowing him, is much worse than anything Manny has done, to date. As for Guillen, you may not believe in what he says, but to say he does not have character is a flat out lie. You can have your opinions, just like I can inform you that they are ded wrong. In this case, it sounds like you might just be a bit judgemental, and I would love to fiund out if you hold up to your own standards, which I doubt! Guillen has some of the most "character," of all managers in the game.

Just what baseball needs a manager (Guillen) and his star player without a thread of character. Great. I'll never, ever pull for the White Sox again.
